Our Story

In 1976 Don Cardiff began making model train sets in the basement of his apartment complex. Don designed and built hundreds of model railroads in his time. Dave Cardiff, Don's son, started managing the business in the early 2000's and took it to new heights by implementing new and improved construction methods. Dave has had over 10 projects on the cover of OGR magazine. Fast forward to 2023 and now Alex Cardiff, Dave's son, has joined the model railroad building team! Alex makes balancing the technology and fun a focus when it comes to building your model railroad. With over three generations of experience and a 40' x 60' shop we have the tools and skills needed to make your model train dreams a reality.
